THEATER GYM:

(START THRU AGE 8)

This fun class is a great introduction to the art of acting. The young actor explores acting through GAMES, STORYTELLING, IMPROVISATION, as well as voice and movement. This is a great class to getting kids comfortable onstage, working with scene partners, building confidence and focus, and freeing their own unique imagination within a theatrical setting.

LEVEL 1:

Students begin to learn how to bring their own unique qualities to the stage. They will uncover a whole new world of acting through enhanced Concentration and Sensory awareness, Development of IMPROVISATIONAL SKILLS, beginning VOCAL & Movement techniques and discover their dramatic potential through introductory scene and MONOLOGUE work.

LEVEL 2:

This course emphasizes the basic elements of the craft of acting by utilizing fundamental acting technique and scene study as starting points. Students participate in scenes and exercises aimed at training the actor for the technical requirements of acting on the stage.

Classes encourage students to break down physical and internal inhibitions, develop a unique point of view and and help each student find the most effective personal choices for building truthful characters. This class emphasizes the construction of and control of character within the context of scenes and monologues.
